Doulas Make a Difference

Are you going

to be a

mommy

very soon?

Thinking of working with a doula? Heres what you need to know...

A doula is “a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible” (www.dona.org).

A birth doula is proven to reduce risks and help with pain management during childbirth.

A birth doula works with women who plan to give birth at home, a birth center, or in a hospital.

A birth doula can help women wanting to birth with or without an epidural, or who are unsure or who may change their mind.

A birth doula works closely with your primary care provider(ob, midwife) and your entire medical team to ensure you feel safe and have a memorable birthing experience.
